Mr. Savitt was the author of 15 books,
including short stories and books on how to draw horses, as well as his famous
Sam Savitt Horse Charts. One of these charts, Sam Savitt’s Guide to Horses, is
in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington,
